Three nights of storytelling

Captivating True Tales, Mesmerizing Performances, and Interactive RPG Adventures

Join us for a weekend celebration of diverse storytelling from July 12-14 at our Richmond studio.

Each night offers a unique experience: captivating tales by talented storytellers, heartfelt narratives by indigenous artists, and physical performers showcasing the art of circus. On the third and final night, with free entry, enjoy an insightful talk and exploration of cinematic storytelling and how it can be applied to tabletop RPGs, with guests invited to play guided by our guest DMs.

Enjoy food, drink, and a vibrant atmosphere as we come together to share and celebrate the art of storytelling.

QuestCoast Studios is grateful to create our work on the unceded and traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam) and sc̓əwaθenaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsawwassen) Nations.

Stories are an essential part of every culture, passed down and tied to the language of their birth; some stories are told with no words at all.

At Nocturnes Cabaret, we invite you to immerse yourself in an evening of cultural heritage, shared laughter, and creative expression. Delve into tales told by indigenous artists and physical performers showcasing the art of circus, hosted by comedian Alain Williams.

Performers Ariel Amara, Chris Murdoch, Jarod Fedorak, Kasha Konaka, Sido Adamson and more!

STORYCRAFTING FOR SCREEN

Roz Young is a Screenwriter, Game Master, and the powerful storyteller of Ready to Roll, a boundary-pushing actual play YouTube series.

Roz's talk explores two major steps for thinking about pacing like a screenwriter. The first is to think in acts, which helps prepare for a consistently engaging adventure.

The second is to think in scenes, and Roz shares perspective shifts from her varied fields of expertise that help keep every moment feeling unrestrained yet on track.

When making an actual play for an audience: Lights, camera, roll initiative!
